I take pictures. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Remote City in South America

Screen Shot 2015-08-04 at 11.01.00 AM

This is a twilight image of one of my favorite villages in the world -- Cusco, Peru. I love shooting at the "blue hour" and this fountain in the middle of the square in this remote town is the perfect subject.

Cusco is at an elevation of over 11,000 feet in the Andes Mountains and a starting point for the elevated train or walking trail to wonderful Machu Picchu. While I do love spending several days in Machu Picchu, I do love Cusco even more. The people are terrific photographic subjects, llamas are everywhere, buildings & landscape are very photogenic, while the food & music are just fabulous.

To my photographer guys & girls, always start shooting AFTER the sun sets --- these golden minutes when the sky is not yet black and the subject often glows! Long, slow shutters caught this fountain and the church lights... it just happens in front of your eyes. Experiment and you will be pleased with the results.

Once in your life, visit Cusco & M.P. You will not be sorry. But, don't forget to drink the tea at this elevation! Otherwise, headaches will find their way to you...
